Hello there. My name is Angela (wave). I'm currently working at a photography studio as a graphic designer and studio manager in Somerset, New Jersey. And I guess by default, a photographer as well. How I ended up here is kind of unexpected. From sunny San Diego, to tropical Taiwan, to the middle-of-the-cornfields Illinois, and now to the opposite corner of the country...why, hello jughandles. It seems so random, I know. Its been hard to call any place my true "home", but the one thing that I've always been able to call my own is my love for creation. I love to draw. I love to make things with my hands. It never changes. It never runs out.
I started sewing for fun when I first moved to Peoria, Illinois in January 2007 for a new job. I was living by myself in a dark, bug-infested, sublevel apartment with no furniture. I guess making soft little creatures comforted me while I was transitioning into this new city. At first it was just a hobby and a fun gift idea. In May, I made my first sale to a coworker who had just become a grandmother. I started getting requests here and there as more babies were born, students graduated, and the holiday season drew near. By Christmas, I had turned my little sewing table into a toy factory. And my living room was a mess (sorry roomie).
I have survived two crazy Christmases and one insane Valentine's Day...and now I feel invincible! (Just kidding. Please don't hurt me.) But those busy seasons have helped me learn how to sew faster and better. Even though I still poke myself with the needle all the time. The orders haven't stopped, and I still enjoy making people giggle when they see their creature for the first time.
It's still hard to believe sometimes that this little hobby of mine has turned into something so real. Thanks to all the people who have supported and encouraged me along the way...and even offered to be my personal sweat shop (haha)! Thanks Jessica for
helping me make this website! I'm so excited that this has become a reality, and I'm glad that so many wonderful people have been a part of it. Thank you!
