Hello there! My name is Angela. I currently live in San Diego, California working as a photographer and graphic designer at a photography studio with my husband. My life gets pretty crazy running a full-time studio, taking care of my family (and dog), and trying to figure out life in a new community. But the one thing that has always kept me going is my love for creation. I love drawing, decorating, playing with colors, and I especially like to make things with my hands. I never get tired of it, and my ideas never run out. I know this gift is a blessing, which is why I started Handmade Creatures to share my creations with all of you!

I started sewing for fun when I first moved to Peoria in January 2007 for a new job. I was living by myself in a dark, bug-infested, sublevel apartment with no furniture. I guess making soft little creatures comforted me while I was transitioning into this new city. At first it was just a hobby and a fun gift idea. In May, I made my first sale to a coworker who had just become a grandmother. I started getting tons of requests as more babies were born, students graduated, and the holiday season drew near. By Christmas, I had turned my little sewing table into a toy factory, and my living room was a mess (sorry roomie).

I have survived intense holiday seasons with massive amounts of rush orders, and shipped creatures all over the world. It's surprising that I still poke myself with the needle after making over 200 creatures. But the truth is, I love what I do and the smiles these creatures bring to people's faces. This is what I love to do on a quiet evening in front of a favorite movie. It's theraputic and always makes me feel better after a stressful day.
